AUGUSTA, Ga. –
Kaylee Sticker's double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds highlighted three Nighthawks in double figures, but the University of North Georgia women's basketball team came up on the short end of a 68-59 Peach Belt Conference game at Augusta on Saturday afternoon.
Ansley Hall and
Emily Trushel added 14 and 11 respectively.
Augusta (12-6, 6-2 Peach Belt) opened the game on a 12-2 run, but North Georgia rallied back to take an 18-16 lead after the first period.
The Nighthawks would take a six-point (31-25) lead into halftime after limiting Augusta to just nine second quarter points.
Augusta took control of the game with a 22-12 third quarter that included seven points from Kennedi Manning. The Jaguars would stretch the lead to as many as 16 in the fourth quarter.
Manning led Augusta with 24 points on 11-of-18 shooting and a team-best eight rebounds. Tomiyah Alford added 21 points.
North Georgia falls to 11-7 overall and an even 4-4 in PBC play with the loss. The Nighthawks complete the two-game road stretch on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at USC Aiken.
