AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference has revealed the 2022-23 women's basketball Team of Academic Distinction, presented by Barnes & Noble College. Five University of North Georgia women's basketball players have been selected, the second most selections of any school in the PBC. 

Caroline Martin, Josie Earnhardt, Livi Blackstock, Carly Fahey and Kayla Massop were all chosen for the Nighthawks as Martin and Earnhardt make their second career appearance on the Team of Academic Distinction, while Fahey, Blackstock and Massop earn their first career selection.

The North Georgia women's basketball team earned its sixth straight NCAA Division II Tournament appearance, finishing at 19-11. UNG has earned at least four selections to the Team of Academic Distinction since its inception in 2021, placing six on the team in 2022 and four in 2021.

To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of their team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieve a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) complete at least one full academic year at their current institution and reach sophomore athletic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program.
