Box Score TIGERVILLE, S.C. – In a strong effort on the road, the No. 16 University of North Georgia men's tennis team rolled to a 6-1 victory over North Greenville in non-conference action. The Nighthawks swept the doubles point and won five of six singles matches to cruise past NGU.
Joaquin Benoit and
Cole Brainard breezed to a 6-0 doubles victory to open the day, followed by two highly contested battles in the #2 and #3 flight where
Daniel Ostap and
Giulio Sassi took a 7-5 result along with
Robin Eldin and
Eliseo Alcalde taking a 7-6 win by way of a 7-2 tiebreaker finish.
In the singles portion, UNG won the #1 flight courtesy of Benoit's 6-2, 6-3 straight-set victory before NGU took one back, making it a 2-1 score. The Nighthawks would take the next four matches as
Christopher Cahour (7-5, 6-4), Sassi (6-4, 6-1), Eldin (6-1, 6-1) and Alcalde (6-0, 6-3) would all earn straight-set wins to complete the 6-1 final.

North Georgia will play two more matches this week, hosting No. 6 Columbus State on Wednesday (Apr. 12) before heading on the road for a matchup against Georgia College on Sunday (Apr. 16).
