AUGUSTA, Ga. – Ending a historic season, the University of North Georgia men's basketball team fell 83-73 to 12th-ranked Lincoln Memorial (29-4) in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional semifinals at Augusta's Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Railsplitters found success in the paint and had one of their best shooting performances of the season to move into the next round.
Giancarlo Bastianoni paced the Nighthawks' offensive attack, scoring 17 points while grabbing six rebounds, three on the offensive end.
Hunter Shedenhelm had his best game, scoring 16 points and making four of his six three-point shot attempts.

Frank Champion (12) finished third and fourth in scoring as Champion added 11 rebounds and six assists. The 2022-23 basketball season ends for North Georgia with a 21-8 record, the most wins in the NCAA era.
