AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference has named
Sydney Blair the Freshman of the Week after her efforts in five games against West Georgia and USC Beaufort this week. The freshman outfielder from Peachtree City, Ga., hit. 417 with a double and three RBIs during the five-game stretch helping UNG win all five games.
She opened with a 2-for-2 outing against West Georgia, driving in a run, and was 2-for-3 in the third game against USC Beaufort with a double and another RBI. She totaled five runs scored with two stolen bases throughout the week. Blair is currently third on the team with a .414 batting average and is tied for seventh in the PBC in stolen bases.
This is the second consecutive week a North Georgia softball player has earned the award, with
Marycille Brumby earning Freshman of the Week honors last week.
