KEARNEY, Neb. – A comeback attempt that fell just short ended with the No. 9 University of North Georgia losing 3-4 in their ITA Indoor Championship semifinal game against No. 3 Saint Leo.
The Nighthawks took the doubles point, with
Viktorie Wojcikova and
Johanna Lippert opening up the day with a dominant 6-0 victory.
Svetlana Teterina and
Angelina Linnikova continued their undefeated streak, taking a win in doubles 6-4.
North Georgia fell behind in singles losing the first two singles matches before Linnikova answered with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 victory to tie it at 2-2. Saint Leo would win the next two taking a 4-2 victory. Teterina took a singles win 7-6, 6-2 to make it a 4-3 final.
