AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Peach Belt Conference has announced University of North Georgia women's soccer players Sierra Fowler and Cat Watry as the PBC Goalkeeper and Defender of the Week after logging a pair of shutout victories against USC Aiken and Georgia College.

Watry was part of a back line that held both the Pacers and Bobcats scoreless as she capped off a solid team display on the defensive end. The Alpharetta, Ga. native also added a goal on the offensive side in a 6-0 win over USCA.

Fowler played all 180 minutes last week, adding another clean sheet to her record as the Nighthawks continue to be one of the best-defending units in NCAA Division II. Fowler leads the PBC in goals against average, save percentage and shutouts while being tied for sixth in NCAA Division II in shutouts, also ranking 30th nationally in GAA and 32nd in save percentage

UNG leads the PBC with just nine goals allowed in 15 games, a 0.60 goals-against average, leading the league with ten shutouts.

It is the first weekly award and second career for both Nighthawks as Watry earns her second career Defender of the Week award and Fowler earns her second career Goalkeeper of the Week award from the PBC both earning their first career awards on Oct. 17, 2022.
