CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The University of North Georgia women's golf team finished in 12th place at The City with Spirit Fall Classic hosted by Lee University. The Nighthawks struggled on the final day but did not move down the standings.
Amari Smith (74-78-80--232, t20th) led UNG after each round. Smith's first round had her as high as tied for third. Smith took a step back from the first two rounds but finished her second consecutive tournament in the top 20.
Kennedy Noe (84-75-84--243, t54th) and
Ellie Rippee (86-76-81--243, t54th) tied for second on the team. Conditions were difficult on the course for the final day, with only one competitor in the 79-person field shooting below par.
Limestone held on for victory, finishing at 43-over par (97), and Jessica Rathbone of Anderson finished first overall, defeating Supuschaya Srichantamit of Lee University in a playoff.
The Nighthawks will return to Dahlonega for their next tournament hosting the 9th Annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial at the Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega.
