DAHLONEGA - For the third time in five years, the No. 10 University of North Georgia women's basketball team are the Peach Belt Conference regular season champions after defeating USC Aiken, 69-48, Saturday afternoon.
After a back-and-forth first period, North Georgia used a quick 7-0 spurt in the second quarter to gain the advantage with an eight point lead. The lead would swell to 13 by halftime before UNG extended it to 20 midway through the third quarter, where the lead hovered for the rest of the contest.

Caroline Martin led all scorers with 19 points, while
Julianne Sutton added 17. Jusie Earnhardt also had 11.

Abbie Franklin and Sutton for their contributions to the program during their careers.
- The Nighthawks had 20 assists on 24 made baskets.

North Georgia, as the top seed in the PBC Tournament, will host eighth-seeded Young Harris Wednesday. Game time will be announced Monday.
