COLUMBUS, Ga. - The University of North Georgia men's basketball team dropped its third straight contest Saturday at Columbus State, 77-69.
North Georgia kept it close early, but a 12-0 Cougar run midway through the first half put the Nighthawks down by 16, 24-8. UNG fought back, cutting the lead all the way down to three at 31-28 with 2:32 left in the first half before CSU finished the period with a 6-0 spurt.
In the second half, the Nighthawks could never get closer than three possessions as Columbus State answered every run from UNG to preserve the win.
NOTES
- Despite the loss, UNG clinched a spot in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Saturday as Clayton State took a loss to Georgia College. North Georgia is currently tied for sixth with Lander in the standings.

Malik Hardy led the way with 21 points, while
Greg Billups, Jr. had 11.
Zach Brown also finished in double figures with 10.
- Columbus State turned 14 North Georgia turnovers into 20 points.
