WINGATE, N.C. – Cross Country will race at the NCAA DII Southeast Regional hosted by Wingate at 11:15 pm on Saturday, November 19. The University of North Georgia will be represented by a team of Nighthawks that won four races this season and finished second at the Peach Belt Conference Championships. North Georgia raced the course in October when they won the Wingate Bulldog Stampede.
There will be 21 teams in the event, with the top three teams from each regional meet will automatically advance to the NCAA Division II Championship finals on December 2 at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Washington, as part of the NCAA Division II Fall Festival. The top two individuals not a part of a qualifying team will automatically advance to the championship finals.
The Nighthawks are looking to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship for the first time since 2014. North Georgia has finished in fourth or fifth place, one or two spots from advancing, in all but one season since the 2014 National Championships.
Live stats and video will be available for the event, and links can be found on the women's cross-country schedule page.
