DAHLONEGA – Maya Cameron has been named the Chick-fil-a Nighthawk of the Week after a record-setting performance in her first collegiate match for North Georgia. 

Cameron led the way in North Georgia's victory over VMI, scoring a 580 in smallbore and 591 in air rifle, Cameron's individual aggregate score of 1171 is the school record, and both scores in Smallbore and Air Rifle set her own personal record.

The Fort Mill, S.C. native comes to UNG after a successful high school career. Cameron won 11 Individual National Championship Sporter Air Rifle Titles, 20 Team Sporter National Titles, eight National Record Team Titles and three Individual National Record Titles.

The Nighthawk of the Week title sponsor is Chick-fil-A of Dahlonega, with each week's winner being treated to a complimentary combo meal at the Dahlonega restaurant. Beginning in the fall of 2014, the UNG athletic department began honoring one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is chosen each Sunday evening by an award selection committee made up of members of the UNG athletics administrative staff.
