DAHLONEGA - The No. 22 University of North Georgia baseball team fell Sunday afternoon to Columbus State, 15-4, in the final game of the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Tournament, presented by Under Armour.
North Georgia got on the board first in the bottom of the first via a three run homer from
Brady Eeles, but the lead was cut into immediately on a two run homer from Columbus State and then overtaken by the Cougars with a five run third. CSU got a solo homer in the fifth to take an 8-3 lead before North Georgia answered on a RBI groundout in the bottom half of the fifth inning.
Columbus State would go on to score two in the sixth, three in the seventh and single runs in the eighth and ninth to secure their sixth PBC Tournament crown.

- UNG was held to just four hits with only two coming after the first inning.
- North Georgia sits at 30-15 headed into selections for the NCAA Southeast Regional. As of the latest report, the Nighthawks were a team that was "Under Consideration" for a spot in the regional field. Selections will be announced on May 23 at 10 p.m. on NCAA.com.
