No. 24 Baseball Pounds Southern Wesleyan, 16-6

DAHLONEGA - The No. 24 University of North Georgia baseball team scored in seven of their eight innings in the batter's box as the Nighthawks took down Southern Wesleyan, 16-6, Tuesday evening at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park.

North Georgia got started in the first inning, scoring on a Warrior error and wild pitch to take a 2-0 lead. After SWU scored five in the top of the second, the Nighthawks scored five of their own in the bottom of the second on a balk, a Bill LeRoy RBI single, a Brady Eeles RBI single and a Will Hardigree RBI double.

Nik Levensteins got in on the fun in the third with a RBI single before a three-run blast from Hardigree gave North Georgia an 11-5 lead through three innings. The Warriors scratched across their final run in the fourth on a RBI single, but North Georgia got it back in the bottom of the inning on an Andres Perez sacrifice fly. A Levensteins solo homer in the fifth, a RBI groundout in the seventh and a Levensteins sacrifice fly and a Warrior wild pitch in the eighth rounded out the scoring.

NOTES
- Eeles went 5-for-5 on the day, marking the first five-hit game since Chase Sudduth's 5-for-5 day against Emmanuel on March 6, 2019. Eeles finished with three runs scored and a RBI, while his five hit game was the 14th in program history.

- Beau Jones earned his first win of the year, going 2.1 innings in relief and allowing a single run off three hits while fanning three.

- The Warriors sent 16 different players to the plate over the course of the game.
