DAHLONEGA - The 16th-ranked University of North Georgia women's tennis team got another home victory against No. 18 Queens this afternoon, taking down the Royals, 4-3.
At doubles,
Cibeles Zuddy and Claudelle Labonté Frey swept their opponents, 6-0, at line No. 3, followed by
Anna Markvartova and
Annie Adams winning line No. 2, 6-4.
After Queens won the first, third and fourth lines to take a 3-1 lead, Adams got a 6-4, 6-4 victory on the fourth line, followed by
Johanna Lippert winning her sets, 6-1, 6-4, on line No. 6. At line No. 5, Labonté Frey won 6-2, 6-7 (8), 6-3, to finish off the comeback win.
UNG will jump back into Peach Belt play in their next match against Georgia Southwestern on Friday. First serve is at 2:30 p.m.
