DAHLONEGA - The No. 16 University of North Georgia women's tennis team ran into a red hot and 11th ranked Columbus State team Sunday afternoon, falling to the Cougars, 7-0.
After falling in all three doubles matches, the Nighthawks fought back in singles action as
Cibeles Zuddy won her first set, 6-2. The Cougars won at Nos, 1, 2 and 4 to clinch the match with CSU also taking the second set against Zuddy, 6-3, forcing a 10-8 tiebreak set in favor of Columbus State.
Claudelle Labonté Frey gave her opponent on the fifth line a challenge after falling in the first set, 6-1, forcing the Cougar to break serve to force a tiebreaker that ultimately CSU would win, 7-6 (4).
North Georgia will look to get back in the win column Tuesday when they host Georgia Southwestern at 2:30 p.m.
