DAHLONEGA - The No. 4 University of North Georgia softball team saw the offense catch fire Wednesday as they put up two run rule victories against Shorter at The Hill.
GAME ONE - #4 UNG 12, SU 0 (5 inn.)
After going scoreless in the first three innings, North Georgia exploded in the fourth, sending 18 batters to the plate in the frame to score all 12 runs. 
Mallory Parker started the inning with a RBI triple before hitting her first ever grand slam in her second at-bat of the inning.
Kaylyn Anthony and 
Cheyanne Mosteller each had two-run homers in the frame, while UNG got the rest of their runs off a bases loaded hit by pitch and walk as well as a 
Hannah Forehand RBI single.
Laken Chambers improved to 10-0, allowing just three hits across four innings of work.
GAME TWO - #4 UNG 14, SU 0 (5 inn.)
Parker continued her hot hitting on the day, getting it started with another RBI triple in the first inning that plated two runs and gave the Nighthawks an early 2-0 lead. UNG went on to score 11 runs in the third, highlighted by two inside-the-park home runs, one a three-run round trip by 
Margaret Simmons before a quick trip around the bases for 
Cheyanne Mosteller for a grand slam sprint.
Kiley Hubby and 
Madison Simmons each earned a RBI in the third as well, while 
Jaycie Michael finished off the 11-run inning with a two-RBI single. Hubby finished off the scoring with a solo homer in the fourth inning.
Abbie Crawford (3-0) fanned four Hawks over four innings, allowing just two hits to earn the win.

Shelby Hammontree became the all-time career games played leader at North Georgia with her start in game two. She has seen action in 237 games in her career, surpassing 
Jessica Finch's record.
- North Georgia last scored 12 runs in an inning when they plated 13 against Miles on February 3, 2018. The most runs scored in a single inning for UNG was 14 against Georgia Southwestern on April 12, 2015.
- With her inside the park homer, 
Margaret Simmons is now in a five-way tie for third place in the single season records for homers with 14.
