ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The 16th-ranked University of North Georgia women's tennis team fell Saturday afternoon to No. 14 Flagler, 5-2, in the regular season finale.
The Nighthawks fought to three very close doubles matches, falling on the second and third lines, 7-5, while
Vaishali Jorge and
Johanna Lippert had their match stopped with a 6-6 score on the top line.
After the Saints took the top singles line for a 2-0 lead,
Annie Adams brought the match back to a 2-1 score with a 6-1, 6-4 win on the fourth line. Flagler took the match after that with wins on the second and third lines in straight sets. Lippert won a three-set match on the sixth line for the other Nighthawk point, coming back to win in the match, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.
North Georgia will now await seeding in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament to determine their opponent for April 28.
