YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - The No. 24 University of North Georgia baseball team put up 10 runs in the second inning, tying a Peach Belt record along the way, as the Nighthawks finished off the sweep of Young Harris, 14-7, Monday afternoon.
After the Mountain Lions jumped out to a 1-0 lead after a solo homer in the first, North Georgia scored 10 runs off four hits, drawing four walks and being hit by three pitches along the way. Young Harris had another solo homer in the bottom of the second, but the Nighthawks got the run back in the third on a
Bill LeRoy RBI single, making the score 11-2.
YHC scored their third run of the game on another solo homer, but UNG scored two in the fourth before
Nik Levensteins had a solo homer of his own to stretch the Nighthawk lead to 14-3. The Mountain Lions would push four runs across over the final four innings to bring the game to its final score.

Jay Pendley (1-0) earned the win, going five innings while fanning seven Mountain Lions. He surrendered just three runs off four hits.

Tim Conway each went 3-for-5 in the game with the former scoring twice and bringing home two.
- North Georgia's 10-run second inning ties a single inning league record in a PBC game and is the fifth time that a team has scored 10 runs in a single frame.
