DAHLONEGA - The No. 23 University of North Georgia men's tennis team made quick work of Carson-Newman Saturday, winning the match, 7-0, at the UNG Tennis Complex.
The Nighthawks took the doubles point, giving up just four games across the three matches, including a 6-0 win for
Zach Waldow and
Joaquin Benoit on the second line.
From there, North Georgia eased through singles with all six matches going in straight sets with no set getting closer than 6-4.
Ryan Gaskin won on the top line, 6-3, 6-0, while Kevin Candido won a 6-1, 6-1 matchup on the sixth singles line.
North Georgia will open Peach Belt play Tuesday in Dahlonega when they take on Augusta at 1 p.m. at the UNG Tennis Complex.
