No. 16 Women's Tennis Blanks Brenau

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - The 16th-ranked University of North Georgia women's tennis team swept Brenau Tuesday afternoon, 7-0, marking the third shutout of the season.
 
Anna Markvartova and Annie Adams got a clean sweep at No. 3 doubles, but the Tigers took the top line, forcing the deciding match on the second line. Claudelle Labonté Frey and Cibeles Zuddy took the victory, 6-3, over the Golden Tigers to secure the doubles point. 
 
In singles, Zuddy was the first to get a victory at No. 3, beating her opponent 6-0, 6-1 followed by Adams winning 6-1, 6-2 on line No. 4. Markvartova dominated at No. 2 singles, winning 6-2 in the first set and 6-3 in the second to clinch the match. Labonté Frey won her first set, 6-1, and her second, 6-2, before Rafaella Villanueva won her sets, 6-3 and 6-0. At the top singles line, Vaishali Jorge got the victory despite falling in the first set to finish off the shutout. 
 
The undefeated Nighthawks will play their next match against No. 6 West Florida on Saturday. First serve is at 10 a.m. from Valdosta State.
