FLORENCE, S.C. - Dating back to last season, the No. 15 University of North Georgia women's tennis team has built a 13 match winning streak as they took down Francis Marion Friday, 6-1.
North Georgia swept the three doubles matches, surrendering just five games.
Vaishali Jorge and
Johanna Lippert pitched a 6-0 shutout on the top line, while
Cibeles Zuddy and Claudelle Labonté Frey won, 6-1, at No. 2 to clinch the point.
Annie Adams and Rafaella Villanueva took a 6-4 win on the third line.
The Nighthawks went on to take a 3-0 lead after straight set wins by Lippert (6-0, 6-0) and Jorge (6-2, 6-2) before the Patriots scratched the scoreboard with a win at No. 2 singles.
Anna Markvartova clinched the match for UNG with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3.
North Georgia will look to continue the winning streak when they travel to Lander Sunday for a 2 p.m. start.
