FLORENCE, S.C. - The No. 23 University of North Georgia men's tennis team put up their third straight shutout as they held Francis Marion without a point in a 7-0 win Friday afternoon.
The Nighthawks made quick work of doubles, surrendering just six games across the three matches.
Jared Bones and
Giulio Sassi won, 6-1, at No. 3;
Joaquin Benoit and
Zach Waldow took a 6-2 win on the second line; and
Ryan Gaskin and Kevin Candido won on the top line, 6-3.
North Georgia was just as quick in singles, winning all six matches in straight sets, including
Yann Frezouls's 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles. Waldow clinched the match at No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-2 score.
The Nighthawks will be on the road again on Thursday to take on Emmanuel at 1 p.m.
