MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - A three-run homer by Cassius Young in the bottom of the ninth gave Georgia College the series win over the No. 24 University of North Georgia baseball team Sunday in a 16-15 series finale.
Crews Taylor got North Georgia on the board in the top of the third with a two-run homer, but the Bobcats answered by scoring the next nine runs to hold a 9-2 lead through six innings. The Nighthawks scratched two across in the seventh, but again, Georgia College responded by getting one back after the stretch to push the lead back out to 10-4.
The Nighthawks started the comeback in the eighth as they scored five runs in the frame, capped off by another Taylor long ball, this one of the three-run variety that cut the lead to one. After a scoreless bottom of the frame, the Nighthawks came out and put six on the board in the ninth inning to take a 15-10 lead. Georgia College kept things alive in the bottom of the ninth, setting up Young for the game winner.

- Taylor went 2-for-5 with six RBI and three runs scored.
Jake Arnold finished the day 3-for-6.
- A total of 11 pitchers were used in the game, throwing 358 pitches in the contest.
- The 31 runs scored in the game are the most in the history of the series, surpassing 27 total runs in a 16-11 win for North Georgia in 2014.
