FORT VALLEY, Ga. - The University of North Georgia men's basketball team ran away in the second half on their way to a fifth straight win this season, outscoring Fort Valley State, 64-51, Saturday afternoon on the road.
After a back-and-forth first half saw North Georgia up six at the break, the Nighthawks used a 9-0 run to stretch what, at the time, was a three point lead out to 12 midway through the second half. UNG extended their lead even further to as many as 20 on two occasions before the Wildcats worked back to the 13 point final margin with a three at the buzzer.
NOTES
- 10 Nighthawks found their way into the scoring column, led by a 14 point performance from
Frank Champion. Champion had 10 rebounds to mark his second straight double-double.

Blake McIntyre continued his hot shooting, hitting four of his six three point attempts to finish with 12 points.
- The Nighthawks outscored FVSU in the paint, 40-26.
