DAHLONEGA - After a slow start saw the No. 6 University of North Georgia women's basketball team trailing at halftime, the Nighthawks turned it around, outscoring Emmanuel 41-20 in the second half on the way to a 74-56 win Saturday on the final day of the Peach Belt / Conference Carolinas Challenge.
Emmanuel and North Georgia were in a back-and-forth affair in the first half that saw the Lions out in front, 36-33, after a buzzer beating three pointer from Jazmin Allen. In the second half, it was all UNG as the Nighthawks went on a 17-2 run that spanned most of the fourth quarter on the way to the win.
NOTES
- UNG has never lost in the Peach Belt / Conference Carolinas Challenge since its inception at the start of the 2014-15 season, going 14-0 in the event.

Josie Earnhardt and
Julianne Sutton each had a team-high 17 points on the day. Sutton pulled down eight rebounds, while Earnhardt hit five of her 11 three point attempts.
- The Nighthawk bench outscored Emmanuel's reserves, 30-7.
