GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Adrienne Bofinger had the clinching point as the No. 10 University of North Georgia women's tennis team defeated Tusculum, 4-1, Sunday morning at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
North Georgia earned the doubles point swiftly, posting 6-1 decisions on the No. 1 and 3 lines.
Vaishali Jorge and
Annie Adams played on the top line, while Bofinger teamed with Claudelle Labonte Frey at No. 3.
Labonte Frey continued her quick play in singles to earn a point for the Nighthawks on the No. 6 line, winning 6-1, 6-1.
Anna Markvartova stretched the lead to 3-0 with a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 5. After the Pioneers earned a point with a straight set win at No. 4, it was Bofinger ending the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1.
The Nighthawks will open Peach Belt Conference play Thursday with a road trip to Georgia College. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
