Cantrell Gets 900th Win as Head Coach as No. 20 Baseball Shuts Out Claflin, 4-0

DAHLONEGA - Tom Cantrell won his 900th game as a head coach as the No. 20 University of North Georgia baseball team shut out Claflin in the Peach Belt Conference opener, 4-0, Friday evening at Bob Stein Stadium at Cottrell Park.

The Nighthawks got on the board in the third inning as Jake Arnold tripled in his first at-bat of the day and scored on a wild pitch later in the inning. North Georgia added to its lead in the sixth, using three doubles in the inning to plate two runs and push the lead to 3-0.

UNG pushed one more run across in the seventh as Arnold came across on a Tim Conway single that brought the game to its final score.
