Jenkins Tallies 19 in Men's Basketball's Win Over 'Canes

Box Score DAHLONEGA - KJ Jenkins finished with 19 points as the University of North Georgia men's basketball team completed the season sweep of Georgia Southwestern, 90-77, Wednesday night in the Convocation Center.

Neither team could pull away early in the first half with GSW and UNG leading by as many as five at different points in the opening 13 minutes. With the score at 33-32 in favor of the Nighthawks, North Georgia went on an 8-0 run to extend the lead out to nine late in the first half.

Early in the second half, UNG opened up an 11 point cushion, but the 'Canes fought back, going on an 8-0 run of their own to cut it to three. It wasn't until the 10-minute mark in the second half where the Nighthawks pulled away for good, stretching the lead out to as many as 13 and holding off a furious run by Georgia Southwestern to secure the league win.

NOTES
- Jenkins shot 5-of-6 from downtown and 6-of-8 from the floor.

- Ephraim Tshimanga finished with 14 points, Darnell Snyers added 12 and Josh Cottrell and Bailey Minor each put up 11.

- The Nighthawks assisted on 21 of their 33 made buckets. Tshimanga led the way with seven.
