Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball's Cold Start Leads to Young Harris Win

DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia men's basketball team fell in an early 42-15 hole before attempting a massive comeback, falling just short to Young Harris, 77-65, Wednesday night.

Young Harris struggled to miss shots in the opening 20 minutes of play, knocking down nearly 57 percent of their shots taken, including 6-of-12 from deep. North Georgia, on the other hand, was just 9-for-29 in the first half from the floor.

The story changed in the second half as the Nighthawks clawed back into the game, cutting the lead down to as few as nine with just under three minutes to play. YHC answered each time the lead got cut down from that point on, hitting their free throws and getting defensive stops to earn the PBC win.

NOTES
- Five players finished in double figures for UNG, led by Zez Steeple's 13. Bailey Minor, Ephraim Tshimanga, Darnell Snyers and KJ Jenkins each had 12. Zach Brown was the only other Nighthawk in the scoring column with a dunk in the first half.

- YHC held a +21 rebound margin, including a 10-2 advantage on the offensive glass.

- Prior to the game, the six seniors on the team were honored: Steeple, Tshimanga, Tyler Dean, Zach Cottrell, Lanre Olatunji and Carrod Watson.
