AUGUSTA, Ga. - A furious fourth quarter comeback was held off by the No. 14 University of North Georgia women's basketball team as the Nighthawks downed Augusta, 61-56, Wednesday night at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Nighthawks used a big second quarter to earn an 11 point lead at the break and stretched that lead to 17 points headed into the fourth quarter. Augusta then went on a 17-4 run to cut the lead down to four with 2:36 to play.
UNG broke the run with a
Julianne Sutton shot in the paint with just over a minute left before hitting 3-of-4 free throws down the stretch to hold on for the league win.

Macey Gregg led all scorers with 18 points, while
Julianne Sutton finished with 15.
Abbie Franklin pitched in 13, and
Imani Arnold came off the bench to contribute 11.
- The Nighthawks shot 56.5 percent from the floor and held the Jaguars to just over 39 percent shooting.
- North Georgia never trailed in the game, giving Augusta just their second loss at home this season.
