Bower Fans Career High 12 as No. 17 Baseball Blanks Lander

DAHLONEGA - Steven Bower struck out 12 Bearcats as the No. 17 University of North Georgia baseball team shut out Lander Friday night, 7-0, at Bob Stein Stadium.

UNG struck first on a Brady Eeles RBI single in the bottom half of the first to take a 1-0 lead. The Nighthawks scored twice in the third, the first coming off a Nik Levensteins RBI single before a squeeze bunt by Conner Corbitt brought home the third run of the game.

North Georgia scored the final four runs in the sixth inning, starting on a Crews Taylor RBI double down the line in right field. After a Bearcat wild pitch scored Jake Arnold, Taylor came home on a Bearcat error to make the score 6-0. Bill LeRoy brought home the game's final run on a sacrifice fly.

NOTES
- This is the third time Bower (8-2) has had double digit strikeouts in a single game. He struck out 10 in a game twice in his career, including once this year.
