NEWBERRY, S.C. - The No. 7 University of North Georgia men's tennis team went on the road Tuesday and got back on the winning track with a 6-1 win over Newberry Tuesday.
The doubles point came after
Niklas Zielen and
Jess Jones won at No. 1 doubles, 7-5, and
Zack Waldow and Kevin Candido won at No. 2, 6-2.
Singles was a little more of a challenge. After
Ryan Gaskin and Zielen took the score to 3-0, Jones fell in a three-set battle to the No. 7 singles player in the nation. North Georgia won the final three matches to clinch the win.
UNG will be back in action Saturday at Lander. First serve is set for 12:30 p.m.
