DAHLONEGA - A three-run first inning was all the No. 12 University of North Georgia baseball team needed to take any momentum away from Augusta as the Nighthawks swept the Jags, 6-1, Sunday afternoon at Bob Stein Stadium.
Chase Sudduth got the bottom of the first inning started with a RBI double, followed by a
Bill LeRoy sacrifice fly that doubled the UNG lead. Josh Profit then stepped to the plate and blasted one to right field to take a 3-0 lead.
Jake Arnold jumped on the homer train in the second inning, taking a pitch out to left field out of the park to push the Nighthawk lead to 4-0. After UNG scored a run on a bases-loaded wild pitch, Augusta finally got on the board with a homer of their own. The Nighthawks got the run back in the eighth on a
Conner Corbitt double that scored
Brady Eeles.
