MELBOURNE, Fla. - For the first time since the 2017 season, the No. 3 University of North Georgia softball team lost back-to-back games in day two of the Florida Tech Invitational.
GAME ONE - PBA 6, UNG 4
The Nighthawks got on the board first in the third inning, putting up three runs in the frame. The scoring started on an
Alishia Frierson RBI double, followed by two runs crossing the plate on a Sailfish error. Palm Beach Atlantic got one run back in the bottom of the third on a RBI single, but UNG pushed the margin back up to three on a
Hobby Gregory RBI single in the fourth.
PBA scored the final five runs of the game, starting with one in the fifth inning on a RBI single. The Sailfish pushed runners across in the sixth with two RBI singles, a sacrifice fly and a wild pitch to get to the 6-4 final score.
GAME TWO - FIT 3, UNG 0
No. 14 Florida Tech got all three runs in the bottom of the first, the first of which off a fielder's choice before back-to-back RBI singles pushed the final two across. The Panthers' Melanie Murphy threw a perfect game, retiring all 21 batters in the contest.

Hobby Gregory went 3-for-7 to lead UNG on the day, including a 3-for-4 game against PBA.
- UNG last lost consecutive games in the NCAA Southeast Super Regional to Armstrong back at the end of the 2017 season.
