DAHLONEGA - Ephraim Tshimanga tallied a game-high 19 points as the University of North Georgia men's basketball team opened up the home slate with a 75-68 win over Emmanuel Wednesday night in the UNG Convocation Center.
The Lions were on the front foot early on, jumping out to a 24-13 lead midway through the first half. North Georgia stormed back though, going on a 14-4 run over the final 6:23 of the first half to tie the game up at 31 headed to the locker room.
After a back-and-forth first five minutes of the second half, UNG went on a 7-0 run to take the lead and would go on to hold it for the remainder of the game to improve to 3-0 on the year.
NOTES
- Tshimanga finished 8-for-10 from the floor in the game, adding three assists, three steals and four boards to his stat line.
- Also finishing in double figures for North Georgia were
Zez Steeple with 14 points and the duo of
Zach Brown and
Zach Cottrell, each finishing with 11.
- Emmanuel turned the ball over 16 times, turning into 18 Nighthawk points.
