HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Megan Sabol finished in a tie for fifth as the University of North Georgia women's golf team held at seventh place to finish the Golfweek Division II Fall Invitational Tuesday at Mission Inn Resort.
Sabol finished in a six-way tie at 149 for the 36-hole event, nine strokes off the pace of Saint Leo's Francesca Santoni, the tournament's individual champion.
North Georgia finished at 623 as a team, 10 strokes behind sixth place and No. 9 Arkansas Tech. No. 8 Saint Leo won the tournament by one stroke over No. 1 Dallas Baptist. No. 15 Florida Southern finished in third, two strokes behind the Lions. No. 14 Lee and No. 20 St. Edward's rounded out the top five teams.
The Nighthawks defeated No. 21 Flagler by six strokes, marking the second ranked team UNG has defeated in a tournament this year.
North Georgia will next be in action at home next week as they host the LeeAnn Noble Memorial at Achasta.
