Game Preview: The University of North Georgia men's basketball team looks to get on the winning track with a road matchup against Lander and a Saturday home game against Georgia Southwestern on Homecoming.

Last Week: North Georgia snapped a six-game losing skid with an 80-65 win over Clayton State last Wednesday. The Nighthawks fell in a close matchup at Georgia College three days later, 92-82.
 
Scouting Lander: Lander is 6-12 on the season and 5-7 in Peach Belt play. Also coming off of a 92-82 loss Saturday afternoon, the Bearcats have lost three of their last four. Marquel Wiggins leads the Bearcats in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per outing. UNG is 10-8 against Lander all-time and has split each of the last eight meetings. Last season, each team won a game while on the road with UNG scoring over 100 in both matchups.

Scouting GSW: Georgia Southwestern is 2-15 on the season and is winless in 11 tries in league action as they prepare to take on Clayton State Wednesday night in Morrow. Losers of 10 in a row, the last win for GSW came on December 13 at home against Albany State, 71-66. R.J. Sessions leads the team in scoring at 11.4 points per game. GSW leads the all-time series, 23-10 and has won three of the last five matchups. The 'Canes won their only game inside the UNG Convocation Center last season over UNG, 84-66, in the venue's opening game.

PBC Individual Stats: Shawn Hopkins is eighth in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring, averaging 16.6 points per game. Lanre Olatunji is eighth in field goal percentage, knocking down 55.7 percent of his shots from the floor, and in rebounding with 7.1 boards per outing.

PBC Team Stats: North Georgia ranks in the middle of the pack in the PBC in virtually every offensive statistical category, but are among the league's best defensive teams. The Nighthawks have the third-best rebounding margin in the conference, pulling down 4.1 more rebounds per game than their opponents.
