AUGUSTA, Ga. - Augusta finished with five players in double figures and shot over 56 percent from the floor to get past the University of North Georgia men's basketball team, 85-73, Saturday afternoon.
After a handful of lead changes to start the game, Augusta went on a 7-0 run to take a 20-14 lead that the Jaguars would never give up. Stretching their lead out to as many as 17, the Jags never let the margin get closer nine down the stretch on their way to the 12-point victory.

Shawn Hopkins finished with a team-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor, including a perfect 5-of-5 in the first half.
Zach Cottrell finished with 14 points, while
Zez Steeple added 12. AU's Tyree Myers led all scorers with 21 as the five Jaguar starters scored 74 of AU's 85 points.
- While most of the stats were similar, the big difference in the game was three-point shooting. Augusta shot 9-for-17 from beyond the arc, while UNG was just 4-for-16.
