ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Trailing by 11 at halftime and by as many as 15 early in the second half, the University of North Georgia men's basketball team cut the lead to one with 9:47 left, but Flagler pulled away for an 83-67 win over the Nighthawks Monday afternoon.
UNG went on a 14-2 run that spanned over five minutes of the second half to make it a 55-54 game at the under-12 media timeout. The Saints then came out over the next five minutes and stretched the lead back to double figures, where it remained for the majority of the final minutes.
NOTES
- UNG struggled from behind the arc, shooting just 6-for-27 from distance.
Shawn Hopkins was the best shooter from three-point land, hitting three of his seven shots from downtown.
- Hopkins finished the game with a team-high 15 points, while
Zach Cottrell had 12 points.
Zez Steeple added 10 points in the loss.
- Flagler got 38 points from their bench players, while North Georgia was only able to score 15 points outside of the starting five.
