Game Preview: The University of North Georgia men's basketball team will attempt to snap a three-game losing skid this week, starting with a matchup at rival Young Harris Wednesday night before a trip to Augusta Saturday afternoon.

Last Week: North Georgia lost both games last week by single digits, falling to Columbus State, 76-67, before coming back from down 20 to force No. 5 USC Aiken to escape with a narrow eight-point victory, 96-88.
Scouting Young Harris: Young Harris is 7-7 on the year and 5-3 in league play. The Mountain Lions have won three straight and have scored at least 100 points in four of the last six games, including scoring over 115 points three times. Four YHC players average double figures, led by Alphonso Willis with 22.4 points per game.
Series Versus Young Harris: YHC leads the all-time series, 10-6, with each team winning on their home floor the past two years. UNG hasn't won in Young Harris since January 5, 2015 in an 84-82 victory.
Scouting Augusta: Augusta is 9-3 on the year and hasn't lost since falling in Dahlonega, 65-62, on December 19. The Jaguars are starting a three-game home stand Wednesday against UNC Pembroke before taking on North Georgia for the second time this season. AU has not lost at home this season (5-0) and are led by Rafael Monteiro's 14.1 points per outing.
Series Versus Augusta: Augusta is up 12-7 in the all-time series, but UNG has won two straight for the first time in the 14-year history of the series. UNG is just 2-7 in Augusta all-time, winning in 2008 and 2015, each by four points.
PBC Individual Stats: Shawn Hopkins is second in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring, averaging 17.8 points per game. Lanre Olatunji is seventh in field goal percentage, knocking down 54.1 percent of his shots from the floor, while Zez Steeple is eighth in the league in three-point percentage, getting 42.5 percent of his shots from distance to fall.
PBC Team Stats: North Georgia ranks in the middle of the pack in the PBC in virtually every offensive statistical category, but are among the league's best defensive teams. The Nighthawks have held their previous opponents to just 75.4 points per game, fourth in the PBC, while committing just 13.1 turnovers an outing.
Battle of Blood Mountain: Wednesday night's game is part of the Battle of Blood Mountain. North Georgia has won the previous five years that the two schools have competed in the trophy rivalry. Currently, UNG leads YHC, 2.0-1.0, after claiming the women's soccer and women's golf points.
