DAHLONEGA - The No. 21 University of North Georgia women's basketball team ran away in the third quarter on their way to a 67-40 win over USC Aiken Saturday afternoon in the UNG Convocation Center.
After a close and competitive first half, the Nighthawks scored 21 of the 26 points scored in the third quarter to push their lead to as many as 34 points, allowing head coach Buffie Burson to play all 10 Nighthawks in uniform for extended periods of time.

Tamera Thorpe led UNG with 15 points, while
Vanessa Agrusa added 10. Six other Nighthawks scored as well.
- UNG scored 23 points off 20 Pacer turnovers in the contest.
- North Georgia's defense in the second half held USC Aiken to just four made shots from the floor after halftime.
