DAHLONEGA - With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, freshman
Jake Arnold hit a no-doubter over the left-center wall, his second of the year, giving the University of North Georgia baseball team a 3-2 win over Southern Wesleyan Wednesday afternoon at Bob Stein Stadium.
The Warriors took the lead in the top of the first, scoring a run off a Trey Matthews RBI double. SWU scored again in the second inning when John Garrett singled with the bases loaded to stretch the lead to 2-0.
North Georgia cut the lead in half in the third inning. A leadoff double for
Crews Taylor, followed by an Arnold single and a Tomlinson sacrifice fly put the Nighthawks on the board. UNG tied the game up in the fourth, using a leadoff walk by
Conner Corbitt and a sacrifice fly by
Nick Clarno to tie the game at 2-2. Arnold's seventh-inning homer with two outs gave the Nighthawks the one-run advantage that ended up as the final score.
