No. 23 Women's Basketball Runs Past Francis Marion, 63-53

FLORENCE, S.C. - The starting five accounted for all but four points as the No. 23 University of North Georgia women's basketball team defeated Francis Marion, 63-53, Saturday afternoon at FMU's Smith University Center. The Nighthawks have now won 20 games for the fourth time in the last five years.

After a back-and-forth first half, the Nighthawks started the third quarter on a 8-3 run to get to a 10-point lead. North Georgia went on to lead the rest of the game with the Patriots never getting closer than five points.

Abbie Franklin led four Nighthawks in double figures with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Mackenzie Darrah finished one rebound shy of a double-double, collecting nine boards with her 14 points.
