Francis Marion Downs Nighthawks In PBC Quarterfinals, 83-64

FLORENCE, S.C. — The University of North Georgia women's basketball team was eliminated from the Peach Belt Conference Tournament with an 83-64 quarterfinal loss at Francis Marion on Saturday evening.

The Nighthawks, ranked tenth in the latest Southeast region poll, are now 20-9 overall.

UNG was plagued by 24 turnovers, which the Patriots converted to 34 points on the other end of the floor.

Jordan Livesay led the way for North Georgia with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the floor, including 3-of-4 from behind the three-point line.  Livesay's free throw with 4:00 remaining in the game marked the senior's 1,000th career point.

Kelsey Hutchins pitched in with 15 points, while Deana Blankinship and Amber Skidgel added 13 and 11 respectively.

A layup by Alli Jones just over a minute into the second half tied the game at 16 apiece, but a FMU three-pointer twenty seconds later sparked a quick 8-0 runs and gave the Patriots the lead for good.  Francis Marion would go on to take control of the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Nighthawks 31-18.
