MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — After three quarters of back-and-forth play Georgia College used a 16-0 run in the fourth quarter to take down the University of North Georgia women's basketball team Monday evening at the Centennial Center. The Nighthawks slip to 18-7 on the season with a 10-6 mark in the Peach Belt Conference.
 
The game was highly contested throughout the first the first three quarters of play with 17 lead changes, and neither team ever leading by more than two possessions. That would change at the 7:49 mark of the final period though as Brianna Davis made a layup that would spark the 16-0 rally for the Bobcats over the next five and a half minutes. UNG wouldn't score again until there were less than two minutes remaining in the game, trailing by 15, and would not get within single digits for the remainder of the game.
 
NOTES
- Kelsey Hutchins posted her fifth double-double of the season leading the team in both points and rebounds with 17 and 11, respectively.
 
- Despite the loss, the Nighthawks have officially clinched a top-four finish in the Western Division guaranteeing a trip to the conference tournament. UNG is still in contention for the No. 2-seed in the West, which hosts a PBC Tournament quarterfinal game, although North Georgia must win out and also needs Clayton State to lose their three remaining games to land the two-seed.
 
- Tonight's game splits the season series between the two teams. Georgia College holds a slight advantage in the all-time series, 14-12. It marks the third consecutive loss for UNG in Milledgeville.
