DAHLONEGA - After a low-scoring first half, the University of North Georgia women's basketball team pulled away in the second half for a 63-50 win over UNC Pembroke Saturday afternoon in Memorial Hall. The Nighthawks improve to 8-2 overall and 3-1 in Peach Belt Conference play.
The Braves led 8-4 after one quarter of play, but the offenses came alive in the second period as the Nighthawks took a two-point lead into halftime after finishing the quarter on a 16-7 run.
North Georgia never trailed in the second half, leading by as many as 13 points in the third quarter. The lead never went below five points down the stretch.

Amber Skidgel led the Nighthawks in the scoring column with 15 points, hitting four three-pointers in the contest.
Vanessa Agrusa finished one rebound short of a double-double, contributing 13 points and nine rebounds in the win.
- UNG's defense held the Braves to 29 percent shooting in the contest. The Nighthawks came into the game ranked third nationally in field goal percentage defense.
- The Nighthawks outscored UNCP in the paint, 28-12.
