AUGUSTA, Ga. - Tyler Dominy finished with a team-high 18 points, but the University of North Georgia men's basketball team fell to Augusta, 86-72, Tuesday afternoon at AU's Christenberry Fieldhouse. North Georgia is now 3-6 overall and 1-2 in Peach Belt Conference play.
The Nighthawks led 7-4 early, but the Jaguars went on 11-0 run over the next 3:25 to take the lead for good. UNG got to within five early in the second half and within eight late, but Augusta pulled away over the final two minutes to clinch the win.
NOTES
- Dominy came off the bench to lead the Nighthawks on 8-of-12 shooting.
Shaquan Cantrell and
Ephraim Tshimanga also finished in double figures with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
- Augusta's Deane Williams finished with a double-double, netting a game-high 24 points and 10 boards. The Jaguars shot better than 53 percent from the field.
- North Georgia is now 5-12 against Augusta all-time.
