FLORENCE, S.C. - A 23-point third quarter gave the University of North Georgia women's basketball team all the space it needed to finish the Peach Belt/Conference Carolinas Challenge with a 64-44 win over Erskine Saturday evening. The Nighthawks are now 2-0 to open the 2017-18 season.
Leading by just one at halftime, UNG hit four three-pointers in the third period to extend the lead to 13 before scoring the first nine points of the final period on the way to the 20-point win.
NOTES
- This is the fifth season in a row that the Nighthawks have opened the season 2-0, dating back to the 2013-14 season.

Mackenzie Darrah posted 14 points, while
Amber Skidgel and
Deana Blankinship finished one rebound short of double-doubles.
- North Georgia had 10 players finish with points in the scoring column with 14 points coming off the bench.
