Nighthawk Baseball Blows Past Truett-McConnell 11-1

DAHLONEGA | The University of North Georgia baseball team used multi-hit performances from Joshua Profit, Sam Tidaback and Steven Tomlinson in an 11-1 win over Truett-McConnell Tuesday night at Bob Stein Stadium. With the win, North Georgia improves to 25-17.

North Georgia got on the board in the second on a two-run Tomlinson homer deep down the left field line. The Nighthawks added a third run in the inning to jump out to a 3-0 lead.

Tomlinson again put UNG in the run column in the third with a triple to right center that scored both Trevor Sams and Profit and made the score 5-0.

The Bears put their only run of the night up in the fourth on a RBI single from Tate Gaines that plated Chris Carden. North Georgia answered back in the fifth by loading the bases and Connor Hoover drawing a walk to extend the lead back to five, 6-1.

UNG added four more in the sixth, highlighted by a Profit double down the right field line that got all the way to the wall and scored three Nighthawks. After a Tidaback double and advancing on a Bear error, Sams brought him home on a sacrifice fly to put UNG up, 10-1. The Nighthawks scored one more in the eighth to bring the game to its final 11-1 score.
